Inspired by the stained glass windows of the world's history, you will create a ceramic tile in clay. Using images of stained glass windows as your inspiration, you will create a low relief (bas relief) tile that incorporates a foreground, middleground, and background; as well as incorporated texture in designated areas.
To Get Started:
Access the Google Presentation via the link above. Create two new slides. On each new slide, add an internet image that you love from your research on "stained glass patterns" "art deco stained glass" or stained glass designs". Add your name to both of your slide(s). I will print out your preferred slide for you to reference when you are working with clay.
**If you have your own artwork, photograph, or idea in mind, please USE IT! I would prefer you use your own original works over borrowing an image off of the internet.
Guidelines:
1. Creation of a stained glass-inspired window design (or other approved idea) in clay, correctly using additive and subtractive carving methods.
2. Research, Google Slides, and sketching of ideas on transfer paper
3. High Craftsmanship of the entire piece from carving to finished glazed/painted surface
4. Inclusion of foreground, middleground, and background (3 levels)
Inclusion of texture in designated area
